I am just practising at blogging. The conference was very informative and I was impressed with the presenters knowledge of the real world of teaching in the classroom. They did not speak about theories of education worlds away from the reality of the classroom.
It is report time and athletics carnival so it is a hectic week.

Conference Concluded

We hope you all have a great time at the Conference and picked up some new ideas to use in your respective departments.

I am in the process of putting together the photos, papers, audios and PowerPoints for the Conference. They will appear in a Proceedings section of the Conference Webpage in the next few days.

I just thought I would let you know that at almost the exact same time in the UK was the first Edublog Conference. If you look at their Conference blog you can see we are moving in the right direction.

Conference Venue

Hi all,

I went to visit the Conference Venue yesterday. I have a little gallery of photos for you to view. There is parking in the hotel for a fee and parking in P6 outside the hotel as well the normal P1 parking. Outside the hotel are 2 hour parking spots.

For those who arrive early there is a Muffin Break shop outside and inside downstairs there is a cafe area for you to use. Our Conference Area is up stairs to the right when you enter the foyer. Cheers Martin

Location of Homebush Bay and the Novotel

Here is a map of the location of the Homebush Bay Precinct P1 is the closest carpark.

Also here is a more detailed map showing the exact location of the Novotel.

There is only two hour street parking in the area. You can park your car at Concord Station and walk into the precinct. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk if you know the way!

There are trains that come from the west of Sydney to Homebush Bay Station. You can see the train timetable by going to the City Rail Website.

Welcome,

This blog has emerged from a Conference at the Novotel Hotel Homebush Bay hosted by the Geography Teachers Association and the Economic Business Educators of NSW, Australia. The Conference was funded by the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme.

The specific aim of the blog is for leaders and potential leaders of academic departments to mentor each other in the leadership process of managing and leading the department.

At the Conference delegates will be given a user name and password so they can contribute to the blog.
